The Cornell Library Annex Discards Project
As the Cornell Library Annex discards books, the Friends will be notified. In some cases, a list will be sent which can be used as an aid for Category Sorters to select books they wish to include in their sections during the upcoming Book Sale.
Books in the Cornell Libraries are classified according to the Library of Congress call numbers. Here's a link to a Wikipedia article which explains what the letter classifications mean as far as subject areas. Starting in the section of the article called “The System”, Category Sorters should be able to figure out which call numbers indicate books which might be appropriate for their section.
List One is from the ILR Library. We have put an Excel document up on the Book Sale Web site. Click here to download List One. When you decide what books from the list you want, please send an email with the corresponding line numbers listed.
List Two is from Uris Library. Click here to see the PDF of List Two. When you decide what books from this list you want, please copy and paste the "Call Number/ Copy Number" information line of those titles into an email.
