The Education Grants Committee offers monetary assistance to staff members of Tompkins County libraries, including school district librarians, to attend professional meetings, workshops, training sessions, and conferences.
In addition, each spring, the Committee honors selected middle and high school students who have volunteered in their libraries with a Friends of the Tompkins County Public Library award.<-->Students enrolled in an accredited Library Science graduate program who plan to seek employment in a Tompkins County library may also apply for funds. Potential grant recipients will be interviewed to allow the committee members a better understanding of their experiences and future plans. These grants may be given for more than one year if the library school student has completed all previous courses successfully.
Please note that funding is limited and awards are not guaranteed.Applications are due on Monday, August 9, or on Tuesday, November 30, for consideration this budget year, 2010.
