Booksale Rules

To ensure that everyone has a chance to enjoy and profit from the sale in safety, the following rules will be enforced:

  • Leave food, beverages, pets, roller blades, bicycles, skateboards, backpacks, suitcases, large bags and shopping carts outside.
  • Supervise your children.
  • Do not remove items from the shelves with the goal of making purchasing decisions later. Examine one book at a time, decide to purchase it or return it to the shelf where you took it. Violators will be asked to leave.
  • Do not sit on the floor – someone may trip on you.
  • To keep the aisles more accessible, use only small 2-wheeled carts. Strollers are permitted if you have a small child.
  • There is a 50 item limit (per visit) on the first day of the sale. Once you have 50 items, please take them to a cashier and pay for them. You will need to remove these items from the building before you can continue to shop.
  • Paying by check? The person whose name is on the check must show a photo ID when paying. We do not accept starter checks.
  • Paying by credit card? We can only accept payment by the person whose name is on the credit card.
  • Once books have been paid for, they must be removed from the building. You may re-enter the sale to make additional purchases; however, if there is a line to enter, you must get at the end. This makes it fair to those patrons who have been waiting to get into the sale.

We have these rules for everyone’s safety, to be fair to all our patrons, and to keep Friends in compliance with fire code regulations. Thank you for your cooperation.
